Rhymes for Reasons

When Cassie, our very talented copywriter for the Radio & TV Interview Report asked me what Mr. T might have to say to the politicians in Washington, I wasn’t quite sure what he would come up with!  But, as often is the case, Mr. T woke me up at 3 am with his thoughts….what do you think?

•    Neither a debtor nor creditor be …
This is the key to liberty.

•    Turning a deaf ear to those you serve
Will result in a defeat well deserved.

•    You cannot spend more than you have …
For there really is no golden calf!

•    When you strip a person of their drive
You destroy the future of another five.

•    If you think you are smarter than all the rest
It is clear that with wisdom you are not blessed.

It’s interesting to try to create the story lines that go with each lesson.  Of course, each starts with a title, followed by the starring flea(s), but then the challenge begins!  How to keep it interesting….fun….and yet get the point across without seeming “preachy.”  When I miss the mark, the revisions multiply!

How do each of you envision a story that would engage a child?  What would you see as the key issues, what would make them ask for it to be read again and again!

Talk to you soon!

I hope that you enjoy meeting Mr. T and helping all of us remember the people, events and lessons in life that have made us what we are…and those we hope withstand the test of time.
